PPG Twitter account getting some hype...

AP golf writer Doug Ferguson took notice of PP's newly revamped Twitter account this week, saying the following:

Pat Perez is on Twitter (PatPerezGolf), but he had only eight tweets in seven months until finding a new purpose in social networking.

"Going to start using Twitter for random phrases that make no sense," he posted a week ago, and he has not let up.

Among his questions:

-"What the hell does 'lay it on the line' mean? Lay what on the line and what line are we talking about?

-"I've been injured a bunch, but I've never 'licked my wounds.'

-"I went to Arizona State. It's in Tempe. Where the hell is the School Of Hard Knocks?"

PP checking in from Scottsdale...

Saturday at home in Scottsdale after a few weeks off. Would rather be playing Doral right now, but wasn't in the mix so I'm spending the downtime at home, training and getting ready to hit the road for the Florida swing on Monday.

Been a good couple of weeks off. Spent some time in Cabo for my 34th birthday and back in Arizona catching up with friends while my wife is in Cambodia doing some charity work. Hit the Suns/Lakers game last night, getting my house in order, getting my work done in the gym and fired up for Tampa next week.

My putting is finally coming around, which is nice. I went back to a conventional grip and I'm using the Scotty Cameron instead of the Odyssey and my old crosshanded grip. My consistency was off and my coach Mike Abbott pushed me to go conventional. He wanted me to get my head behind the ball and to get squared up. I gave it a try and things really started coming together a few weeks back at the Phoenix Open.

More to come from the road in Tampa this week... P.P.
