Sorry I haven't checked in for a while. Been a crazy run these past few weeks. A lot of a work, a little play and finally at the point of the season which truly matters; the FedExCup Playoffs.
I'm finally feeling good and am ready for these next few weeks. The ankle is healed up and I'm in the shape I want to be at this point of the season, both physically and in the overall standings. The goal is obviously top 30 so I get into the TOUR Championship in Atlanta and I have a few weeks to make that happen, starting this Thursday.
On the fitness front, my coach
Joey D and I have been getting after it in the trailers. I go through my daily routine with him, but I've also spent a lot of time doing cardio the past few months and working on stamina. It's a long season out here. We've been on the move for almost nine months straight now and this is the time of year when some guys start to melt down. I don't want to be that guy.
Everything I'm doing right now is to keep me strong down the stretch and going into my off-season workout. January will be here before we know it, so I'll get after it full force the last few months of this year so I can be ready for Hawaii.
I'm going to make a serious push down the stretch here with the four Playoff events and then the two tourneys out in my neck of the woods - Vegas and Scottsdale. Getting another win on the books this year would be a great way to close out an unbelievable season.
Looking forward to Liberty National this week. Haven't played the course before, but for $160M it should be pretty solid. I think Trump knows what he's doing and I'm excited to get out there today.
Next up is TPC Boston, which isn't one of my favorite courses... but I played decent there last year and expect a different set up this year. I'm really looking forward to Chicago as I love Cog Hill. Definitely one of my favorite courses and need to make something happen at one of those three to punch my ticket to Atlanta.
There's still an outside chance for the President's Cup, which was one of my goals this year... but it'd have to win this week to make that happen. I think Freddy (Couples) has his mind set on who he wants and I think I'm something like 21st on the list. He's not going to take someone that high. I'd have to take care of business at The Barclays to have any shot and maybe place well in Boston, too. Too many other deserving guys out there who have got it done this year.
Ready to get down to business on Thursday. More to report as the FedExCup rolls on. Stay tuned. -
