San Diego, Scottsdale, Philly & New York

PP checking in from the road... again. Most people get a few weeks off and they lounge at home. Not me. I'm too wound up to relax, so I spent the past few weeks here, there and everywhere.

I trekked back to San Diego for the second time in the last month, this time for the Chargers v. Jets game and some Monday Night Football at The Q. Thank God the Bolts finally pulled one out. In my last blog, we talked about making a "what the hell is Brett Favre doing here?" sign... which didn't happen, but at least the guy running the PA gets it. He showed the clip from the movie before the game and we all lost it. I still say we should've made the sign.

There were some absolute heroes at this game... and I'm not talking about the players on the field. The cast of characters in the stands Monday night was all-time. Check the slideshow my buddy made.

From the yahoo that dressed like a broke-down Batman, to the 'seat thieves' to the kid in the orange shirt who did a full lap around the stadium yelling, 'Dar-ren Mc-Fad-den' a week too early (the Bolts played the Raiders six days later), then got knocked out and arrested - I think we spent more time watching the freaks than the actual game.

The 'seat thieves' were unreal. Two New Yorkers who sat in someone else's seats, asked the seat owners to produce their tickets (when asking them to leave), looked at the tickets, pocketed them and told the unsuspecting victims to, "get a cop, yo". All four patrons were ushered out of the area and by no surprise, the New Yorkers won the argument because they were back in 'their' seats by halftime. Out of line, but the best sales pitch I've seen since Ricky Roma swindled James Lingk in "Glengarry Glen Ross", so I think you have to respect that.

Headed home on Tuesday morning and drove out to Palm Springs on Wednesday to get in one more session with Mr. A before hitting the road for four weeks. We worked on my fundamentals and all the stuff we've focused on the past few months. He got me ready to go and I drove back to Scottsdale on Thursday morning.

All of this after spending the previous weekend in Cabo locking down plans for the big December wedding.

Friday night we threw a birthday party for my brother, The Hate and Saturday I headed to Philly to meet up with (Pat) Burrell as the Phillies were playing the Nationals and locking down their Playoff spot.

I went to the Saturday and Sunday night games, where Philly rolled 4-3 and 8-3, after a Friday night 8-3 win. I got to see all the guys and make sure my locker was still in tact.

Today I headed to Verona for this week's event at Turning Stone and playing the next four tourneys. I'm a little behind where I expected to be (on the money list), so I need to make it happen this next month.

The goal is always to get a win, but equally as important is getting into that top thirty so I'm exempt in the next season's majors. I'm currently 71st on the money list, so it's time to get shakin. This week New York then off to Texas (Valero), Las Vegas (TPC Summerlin) and my last event of the year, the Frys.com Open, which is literally in my backyard at Grayhawk.

I'll check back in soon. Time to get to work.
